Your Mouth and Your Hands Working Together
One day I was preparing to do an Internet broadcast as I was studying about God's blessings the work of our hands, he spoke to me about the importance of our words (our mouth) working in harmony with one another. It took me a moment to fully understand the revelation that he was revealing to me. Sometimes it is the simplest revelations that bring the most radical changes in our lives. I knew by the Scriptures that God's desire to bless the work of our hands, but also wonder how come the blessings were not manifested. Then the Holy Spirit begins to enlighten me that we hinder many of our blessings by speaking negative words. Words are powerful. I understand words as being seeds in our lives. Negative or positive or otherwise our surroundings are a byproduct of the words of our mouth. If your words are seeds, have you ever wondered what type of seeds you are producing? Those seeds are planning somewhere and you are reaping a harvest, good or bad from the production of your seeds. This whole world was created by the words of the mouth of God. One of the secrets is understanding that we are made in the image and likeness of God, and we create our world by the words our mouth. This is more the “name it and claim it”, “speak and receive it”, it is our entire life influence by the words (seeds) that comes out of our mouths. It is the words our mouth and the work of my hands working together to manifest God promised blessings in our lives. Your mouth and your hands are either working with one another, or conflicting with one another.
“A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the reward of a man's hands shall be given to him.” (Pro 12:14)
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; he shall be satisfied with the product of his lips. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit of it. (Pro 18:20-21)
Jehovah shall command the blessing on you in your storehouses, and all that you set your hand to. And He shall bless you in the land which Jehovah your God gives you. (Deu 28:8)
And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall be afraid of you. (Deu 28:10)
Bring the double portion of blessings into your places of employment or your business. The first blessing is God promised to bless the work of your hands. The second blessing, come from the words of your mouth. Therefore you have a double portion of the blessings upon your business or your place of employment. Unfortunately many have brought confusion to the workplace and to their business. Let me explain, how often you complain about your business or where you work at. You speak negative words about the supervisor, manager, or whoever is in charge. Do you complain about the customers, your employees, and the other business that you have to work with? Your mouth is cursing and bringing delay of blessings to you because you are saying and confessing wrong things. Your mouth and hands must work together in unity. One is complementing the other, working in unison to bring God into the situation of your employment or business.
Whatever type of job you have, you work with your hands. Some more than others but your hands touch or control your workplace in one form or the other. You may be a lawyer or a doctor but your hands help you to perform the necessary tasks.
Let's take a look at the life of Joseph; he was sold into slavery by his own brothers. He was bought by Potiphar. He was a slave in the house of his master. I am stunned and amazed every time I read this portion of Scripture. God made Joseph to prosper as a slave. It's hard to understand the concept of a slave prospering yet, Joseph prospers in his master's house. God is not hindered by your position or status he simply had decree that he will bless the works of your hands. I do not believe that Joseph complain about his master, or said “look at me how hard I have it.” “He's working me like a Hebrew slave.” I'm thoroughly convinced that Joseph spoke blessings upon the house of his master and God in turn multiply and prosper the work of his hands.
"And Jehovah was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. And he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that Jehovah was with him, and that Jehovah made all he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him. And he made him overseer over his house, and he put into his hand all he had. And it happened from the time he had made him overseer in his house, and over all he had, that Jehovah blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake. And the blessing of Jehovah was upon all that he had, in the house and in the field. And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand. And he did not know anything that he had, except the bread which he ate. And Joseph was beautiful in form and beautiful in appearance." (Gen 39:2-6)
Notice the Scripture says that Jehovah God made all that Joseph did to prosper, and he found grace in the eyes of his master. His master was able to see God's blessings in the life of Joseph, therefore Potiphar placed Joseph over his entire house, and God bless his master's house for Joseph's sake. God can and will bless your place of employment just for your sake.
God is able to turn the negative situations of your place of employment to your benefit, if you learn to speak blessings upon your employer and fellow employees. Many go to work with a negative attitude and speak negative words all day long. “I hate my job”, “I will be glad when I get out of here.” “I cannot stand my supervisor or boss.” You wonder how come there's so much confusion, and disharmony, and hatred in your place of employment. God intended for employers and employees to have a good working relationship. Not because they have been forced by union to do or not to do certain things. How about employers and employees blessing one another, and respecting one another. All have interests in producing the best products.
Change the atmosphere of your place of employment, or place of your business. Monday morning walk in speaking blessings and prosperity to your employees, speak words of change and advancement to your supervisor, or the plant manager. Now it would not happen overnight it took you 10 to 15 years to produce the atmosphere of negativity, fear, and unrest. If you are faithful and begin to speak the Word of God, he will teach you how to prosper in your place of employment. Bless the work of your hands and produce prosperity by the words of your mouth.
Let's look at it again. First, the blessings of the work of your hands. Second, God fulfilling the words of your mouth to bless the work of your hands. Remember the two works together and one can cancel out the other. So you want to make sure they're all working together to bring the blessing of God to your place of employment, your business, and changing the atmosphere of your work environment.
